POLITICAL ANALYSIS

1. The framework can be adapted so that it might be useful to researchers operating with any of the paradigms.

2. Main goal

   • To give critical-feminist researchers tools for doing data analysis that fit within the assumptions that characterize their perspective.

3. Steps

   • Number 1
     • Read the data for a sense of the Whole and Review entries previously recorded in research journals and or Bracketed in protocols.
   • Number 2
     • Write s self-reflexive statement explicating your ideological positionings and identifying ideological issues you see in the context under investigation.
   • Number 3
     • Make a list of ideological issues you projected to locate excerpts that seen related to issues.
   • Number 4
     • Search for relationship between the ideological issues you identified in yourself-reflexive statement an what's happening in the social scene.
   • Number 5
     • Code the data based on your generalizations moving back and forth between pieces and the whole is important.
   • Number 6
     • Decide if your generalizations hold up against all the data you have so far a draft summary reports, the final version of your generalization as narrative.
   • Number 7
     • Negotiating meaning with participants in order to create consciousness raising, emancipation and resistence.
   • Number 8
     • Write a revised summary and identify excerpts that support generalizations.
