network threats and preventions
Brute-force attack
- This is where combinations of peoples passwords are all guessed until the correct one is found
- To prevent this use strong passwords and make sure to lock your account after use and confirm your login with a code.
- using strong passwords makes your account secure and no hackers can guess it and get in easily
- if you lock your account nobody can randomly get in and it allows you to be secure
- if you make it so a code is sent out only you will get it allowing only you to have knowledge of the code and nobody else.
Passive attacks
- A message that looks real but is there to trick you and gives information to the user sending them out
- To stop this use network forensics, encryption and penetration testing
Malware
- Collection of things including spyware, viruses and ransomware.
- using antimalware systems and don't download software from unknown sources.
Denial of service attack
- shuts down a network or machine making it inaccessible, floods target with traffic or sending information making the device crash
- to stop this use firewall to decide the data packets sent in.
