  1. We use the past simple to speak about events that happened in the past and that are already FINISHED.
    1. The verbs can be
      1. REGULAR
        1. affirmative form
          1. we add -ed to the infinitive
            1. example: catch catched
            2. if the verb ends in "e" we only add -d
              1. example: change changed
              2. if the verb end in consonant and "y" we change it by an "i" and then add -ed
                1. example: study studied
              3. negative form
                1. we use DIDIN'T and the infinitive
                  1. example: didn't study
                2. interrogative (questions)
                  1. we use DID at the beginning and the infinitive after the subject
                    1. example: DID you STUDY a lot?
                    2. short answers
                      1. Yes, I/you/he/she/it/we/they did.
                        1. No, I/you/he/she/it/we/they didn't
