Black believes that we should not be tempted to accept simple one sided
definitions when we think about the cultural effects of tourism because it is
constantly shifting. The local experience of tourism cannot be understood unless
we look at the connections between culture, meaning and value. Outlined are the
categories most affected by the influx of tourism in Malta and the smaller
components that help to make sense of the culture and how its been affected.
Black effectively explains the relationship between tourists and locals and the
consequences of the interactions.
