Evaluation Questions

1. What impact did music have on your performance?

   • Music actually really added to the performance, we chose to keep the dialogue to a minimum so we utilised the music and lyrics really well.
     • For example, in the music, there is an instrumental that has gun-shot sounds. We used these sounds with physical theatre in order to show a fight scene, having every shot be accompanied by a punch.

2. How easy was it to devise based on lyrics?

   • I personally found this particularly difficult, due to the fact that we had to go through and interpret the lyrics ourselves.
     • However, I really appreciated the challenge and it allowed me to learn new skills. Exploring the lyrics and finding meaning behind them was fun, and seeing other people's ideas was great too.

3. How did your group work?

   • I feel that my group worked really well. We all came together and gave different ideas for the performance and all of these ideas were incorporated into the final product.
     • This allowed us to have a good work dynamic and allowed everyone in the group to have input and to show off their skills.

4. What techniques did you use in your performance and why?

   • We made use of many Brecht techniques in our performance, such as the use of signs and the use of multi-roles. We also used techniques from Artaud, such as the lack of speech and the use of only key words in our performance.
