This prepared them for a life as a soldier
Girls from fourteen joined the League of German Maidens
Girls were trained in domestic skills like sewing
To prepare them for lives as wives and mothers
At school girls studied subject like cookery. It was also stressed they should choose Aryan Husbands
Women's roles in society
Nazis believed the role of women was to support their families and provide children
The League of German Maidens promoted this idea and that it was an honour to produce a large family for Germany
So much so that they gave awards for it
Women were banned from being lawyers in 1936 and the Nazis did their best to stop them following other professions
The Shortage of workers after 1937 meant women had to return to work, which annoyed Nazimen
