    1. He gave the barons a fair amount of land
      1. Means that they were happy so they could support him
      2. He signed the MAGNA CARTA
        1. Magna Carta made him have the same rights as the people around him
          1. This made him a better ruler
            1. This also meant everyone respected him
              1. RULESS FOR THE MAGNA CARTA
                1. When King John's barons inherit land, they will pay no more than one hundred poUnds to him
                  1. King John was not aloud to interfere with the church
                    1. Services etc....
                  2. King John was unhappy because he couldn't demand taxes without san agreement with the barons
                2. BAD THINGS
                  1. Taxed heavily
                    1. Spent it on wars but then lost them all!
                    2. He lost most of his wars
                      1. This means when he spent money on wars he basically wasted peoples her earned money
                      2. At one point he had half of england's coins
                        1. He conquered quite a bit of land in France
                          1. But then lost a big war meaning all the land he conquered was given back to France
                          2. Until he signed the Magna Carta everyone around him didn't respect him
