My target audience is 15 to 18 year old's and to try and connect with this group I would introduce a
Facebook and twitter page as these are the type of medias that people of this demographic use. I would
begin trending and creating hype about the film online to try and create a buzz online
I would ask friends to tweet and post about the film to create a potential "Craze" for the film, using the word of
mouth technique. Examples of films that have used this technique in the past are Paranormal Activity and The
Blair Witch project where they have become over night successes by this social media. As well as this, I would
try and create a viral buzz for the film by allowing the audience to unlock small teasers of the film. This would
get the audience involved more in the film.
Another way I would advertise our film is by placing the posters of the film in
more obvious locations. This would include on large billboards in busy
locations so it is seen by a larger variety of audience numbers. Also, placing
the posters on buses would act as a moving advertisement.
I would advertise the film on television via the use of teasers linked to the film. These teasers would be shown during
popular television programs which relate to the target audience (age 15-18) such as The Walking Dead series.
In conclusion I believe that the combination of my ancillary tasks and the main task (The production
of RUN) linked together really well as they clearly advertise the film. The review is definitely an
effective way to market the film as the information it provides isn't giving away much of the story, yet it
provides opinions from the audience that give the film a great starting point.
