              1. Hitler sent his military to North Nfrica and Greece
                1. They also finalized the longed attack on the Soviet's during the time
      2. Hitler started gathering forces to invade
        1. German forces assembled in Bulgaria
          1. In response to Bulgaria and Greece, Britain dispatched ground forces to Greece to aid the country in early February
            1. Germany began to move against Greece
              1. Government of Yugoslavia (Neutral) had been overthrown and a pro-British government had been installed
                1. Led Hitler to conquer Greece and Yugoslavia
                  1. In April the Germans conquered and ran over their defenses
                    1. Captured Belgrade on April 12
                      1. Lasted a week
                        1. Greek forces disintegrated when the Germans attacked which led the British to withdraw their forces as well
                          1. Germans "showed off" with a daring airborne campaign against the island of Crete
                            1. Seized the island after fighting in May
                              1. This caused the British to withdraw their forces for the 3rd time
        2. Aftermath
          1. The invasions caused long term complications to German war plans
            1. Strong resistance movement
              1. Communist-led partisan movement led by Joseph Tito
                1. April 17th armistice
                  1. Serbian loyalists to to the hills of the countyside to launch the Chetnik movement
                    1. Yugoslavs would resist German occupation of their country
