The evolution of the
atmosphere
- Volcanoes gave out gases
- Things cooled down a bit & a thin crust is
formed but volcanoes gave out lots of gas.
Including carbon dioxide, water vapour and
nitrogen
- According to this theory the early
atmosphere was formed with mostly
co2 and water vapour wit hno oxygen.
- The oceans formed when the water vapour condensed into
oceans when the earth cooled.
- Earths surface was originally molten for millions of years. it
was so hot that any atmosphere just boiled away into space.
- Things cooled down a bit & a thin crust is

- Built up of oxygen in the
