VLE advantages and disadvantages

1. advantages

   • 24 hour access
   • access if you are ill or not in school
   • work at your own place
   • it can help you work through problems
   • uses a variety of median including: animations, games, films
   • Have quizzes, drill and practise and tests to check your progression.
   • Parents can check pupil progress records
   • Student performance can be assessed
   • Pupils can access homework's if pupil ill at home
   • Learning can take place anytime, the teacher does not have to be present.
   • Pupils can email /access their work home and vice versa.

2. disadvatages

   • Impersonal /Can’t ask it questions
   • Cannot skip the bits you already know so can be tedious
   • Often proceeds at a steady speed which may not suit you.
   • Material may be out of date
   • Answers to questions may take along time to arrive
   • Equipment of broadband link can fail leaving the student without a lesson.
