Quality Control Statistics Tools

  1. A quality control system requires an instrument to evaluate the processes to which the system is applied.

    • The seven statistical tools
      • Histogram
        • It is a frequency or incidence diagram obtained from the data sheet
      • Correlation diagram
        • It is a variation of the histogram and is used to evaluate if there is a relationship between two variables that could affect each other, which is validated if a root cause is directly linked to a detected effect.
      • Ishikawa diagram
        • It is an instrument of analysis that uses the possible root causes of problems that have an effect on the results of the processes.
      • Pareto chart
        • This tool serves to distribute the probable causes of an effect in order of importance, in order to address those that need to be corrected or eliminated immediately (the vital ones) and which can be discriminated as minor (the trivial ones)
      • Data collection sheets
        • They are structured forms that facilitate the compilation of information, previously designed based on the needs and characteristics of the data that are required to measure and evaluate one or several processes
      • Flow Diagrams
        • It is a graph or representation of the phases, stages or activities of a process to obtain a specific result.
      • Graphics or control charts
        • Once detected the main causes of an undesired effect can establish limits or ranges of control and measure the behavior of the activities or processes that cause the deviations or failures.
