Physics (P2) Forces
  1. resultant forces
    1. several different forces acting on an object which have different strengths and directions add together to give a resultant force
      1. zero resultant force is when all the forces are balanced which means the resultant force is zero
        1. when the forces are not balanced, the resultant force is not zero
          1. so the object will move in the direction of the resultant force
      2. Forces and motion
        1. Distance time graphs
          1. The gradient on a distance time graph represents the speed of an object
            1. the vertical axis is the distance traveled from the start, the horizontal axis is the time from the start
              1. when an object is stationary the line remains horizontal
                1. when the object is moving at a steady speed the line is straight but sloped
            2. speed = distance traveled / time taken
              1. speed is measured in meters per second, m/s, Distance is measured in meters, m ,time is measured in seconds, s
            3. Velocity time graphs
              1. velocity is speed but with a direction
                1. the vertical axis is the velocity of an object, the horizontal axis is the time from the start
                  1. The line is horizontal when there is a constant velocity, the line is straight but sloped when there is a constant acceleration
              2. Acceleration
                1. a=(v-u)/t
