    1. To test of obedience in the Milgram procedure would be affected in the presence of rebellious and obedient fellow participants.
    2. PROCEDURE
      1. 80 participants aged 20-50 took part, matched for age and occupation as in Milgram's original. There were two conditions of the study. In one of the experimental conditions, the participants worked with two rebellious stooges. One stooge stopped giving shocks at 150V and the other at 210V. In the second experimental condition the participants worked with two obedient stooges, who gave the shocks without protests.
      2. RESULTS
        1. Rebellious condition - 50% refused to carry on past 150V. 15% went to 450V. Obedient condition - 72.5% went to full 450V.
        2. CONCLUSION
          1. The behaviour of the stooges had an affect on the obedience rates of the participants.
