When planning our trailer, we created a
storyboard on paper, after designing a
storyboard layout in word. We then used
a Canon HD Camera to take images of
the different shots in our storyboard, in
order, and then uploaded them onto our
computer. After we had done this, we
then used another new media
technology, Premiere Pro to create a
video of our storyboard, creating an
animatic displaying how we would want
our final trailer to look, based on our
storyboard ideas.
Location Details
For this we used new media
technologies such as the Canon
Camera to take images of our locations.
We went out on 'rekkys' in order to
establish whetehr the locaiton would be
suitable or not for us to film at.
Health & Safety - We carried out
hazard checks, then uploaded our
findings onto a word document which
we then uploaded onto our blog.
Gaining Permission
Emails
In order to film at the different
locations that we'd chosen, we had to
gain permission from the manager(s)
of the different locations. In order to
do this, I emailed the owners of the
locations. For example the image
above is the email I sent to Prestbury
Golf Club in order to let us film our
golf ball scenes. In addition to this,
we also used email to email our
school site manager in order to use
the schools woods during the
weekend to film our film trailer.
Phone
For the Prestbury Golf Club location, I also
had to use the phone to ring up and query
about what times to come and meet to
discuss filming at the location.
Music
Copyright free music - For
this we used a website
called 'FreePlayMusic'
which enabled us to find
music that was copyright
free that we'd be able to
use for our film trailer.
Another media technology that we
used for our music was the Bruton CD:
Movie Trailers 1 which was also a
copyright free music source, the reason
we used the CD instead of
freeplaymusic.com was because we felt
that the track we chose (found on the
CD) was more suitable to our film genre
than the one we found on
freeplaymusic.com
Actors
When planning our film trailer we used a Canon
Camera to take images of our chosen actors.
PLanning
How I presented my plan
I used the internet predominantly to use new media technologies to present my plans. I used
websites such as Padlet, for my conventions in the planning stage, YouTube for planning what type
of shots to use within my crime thriller genre, I used freeplay music to find different music tracks then
presented my findings in a word document as a mind-map which I then uploaded as a jpeg to my
blog, I then used PremierePro to create an animatic of my storyboard outlining the shots that we
wanted to use, which helped to show how it would all fit together.I then used a Prezi to present my
film poster ideas & also PhotoShop to create jpegs of my different ideas for font styles. For my film
magazine ideas I used Examtime to display them & then added images to the ideas from real
products in comparison to how I wanted mine to look.
Script
When scripting our trailer, we used YouTube to access The
Woman In Black teaser & full theatrical trailer, then analysed
the script looking for conventions of each genre of film trailer.
For my analysing I printed off a copy of the scripts and then
annotated them, then used my scanner to upload them to my
computer then onto my blog.

Internet
When planning my tailer, we had
to decide how we were going to
categorise it in the sense of age
restriction. FOr this we used the
website bbfc to find out what would
be categorised into different age
categories then decided to
categorise it as a 15.
