Reflex actions and synapses
  1. Some responses to stimuli are automatic and rapid and are called 'Reflex Actions'.
    1. Reflex actions help us to avoid danger and harm
      1. 1. Sensory neuron 2. Relay neuron.. 3. motor neuron.
        1. The synapse job is to send the electrical impulses to the dendrite of the next neuron.
          1. The electrical impulses pass through the presynaptic membrane and diffuses through the gap to the post-synaptic membrane.
            1. CNS - Central nervous system
              1. The dendrite detects the signals from the other neurons then the axon is the long part of the neuron which carries the signals to the synapse whilst this is happenin the myelin which surrounds the axon insulates the axon and increases the speed of the impulse travelling down the axon. When the axon has sent the impulses to the synapse the synapse releases chemicals whichare detected by the dendrite of another neuron.
                1. Ears, eyes, skin are all sensory organs which are made up of receptors.
                  1. Stimuli - changes in the environment, pressure, noise...
