In “The Catcher in the Rye” Holden Caulfield,
the main character is a very dynamic character.
Holden's Red Hunting Hat
When Holden wears the hat he a feeling of him, he often times does not care what people think while he wears it, he also gets a sense of security
He gives it to Phoebe because when it rained he wanted
to protect her. But other times when she wore it, it made
him realize Phoebe is following directly in his footsteps.
This makes him want to set a good example.
The Ducks in the Lake
Holden gets very caught up on this idea of where the ducks go, he gets so annoyed, and wants to know so badly. I think the reason he wants to go so badly is because Holden wonders how he will make it through the winter, but he does know that just like the ducks he always comes back.
How he can relate to the ducks
The Record for Phoebe that broke
This shows how much Holden really cares about Phoebe and how she is one of the only people he gets along with.
The "F*** You" on the school walls
This shows that although Holden may cuss a lot he draws a line at the f word, it also shows that Holden can not stand seeing innocent kids becoming corrupt
