A HOLY WAR: is fighting for a religious cause or God probably
controlled by a religious leader. Those who take part believe they will
gain a spiritual reward, such as heaven or paradise. Some reasons
for Holy war are to win back a country or to spread their faith.
THE RED CROSS: The red cross and red crescent have around 97 million
volunteers worldwide. There aims are to protect and ensure respect for
human life and health; and to prevent and alleviate suffering without any
discrimination based on nationality, race, class or political opinions.
A JUST WAR: A Just War is a war that the christian
church defines as acceptable; this must fit certain criteria
A 'just cause' for war could be that its the last
resort so if any other ways have failed at restoring
the problem then war is the last resort.
A 'good intention' for war could be to promote good and avoid evil.
A Just war must be started and controlled by the government.
The UN is committed to maintaining international peace and security.

The Vietnam war 1959-1974: The causes of the Vietnam war were the
North Vietnam being communism and fighting South Vietnam so that the
whole country could be communist. The USA didn't want to lose power
therefore, they also fought for Capitalism.
Some consequences of the Vietnam war were that the people that
were mostly affected were the civilians who were always innocent.
Some defoliants of the Vietnam war are still prominent in the genes of
the Vietnamese people.
Many people argue that war can sometimes be justified because it
helps out other people to get freedom or equality. For example,
when Great Britain went to war with Germany to save the Jews.
However, some people might disagree with war because they
think that it costs too much and the money could be spent on
other things e.g. schools or hospitals.
Christians would say- 'Love your neighbour as you
love yourself' meaning that if they were in the same
situation they would like to be helped.
WMD: Weapons of mass destruction
They have been banned, but they have been used since
then and are still being developed by many nations.
Nuclear weapons cause huge devastation. Afterwards,
radioactive fallout kills many more than the original explosion.
America dropped two such bombs on Japan,
which they claimed ended WWII more quickly,
and saved lives as well as taking them.
