Religion and Prejudice
1 What is prejudice?
1.1 Prejudice is the process of 'pre-judging' something or someone. It is an opinion that is not based on fact. Prejudice is the thought.
2 What is discrimination?
2.1 Discrimination is the unfair treatment of a person or a group based on a prejudice. Discrimination is the action and is illegal.
3 Prejudice is the opinion. Discrimination is the action.
4 What can a person be judged on?
4.1 Sexuality
4.2 Age
4.3 Disability
4.4 Appearance: weight, hair colour
4.5 Race
4.6 Religion; anti-sematism, Islamaphobia
4.7 Gender
5 Laws can stop discrimination, but not prejudice because discrimination is the action and it can be physically stopped, whereas prejudice is an opinion and can't be stopped.
6 Scapegoat: A person or a group made to bear the blame for others or to suffer in their place.
7 Stereotypes: A widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing.
