This story has similarities to The Frog King. That is, it is similar because a beautiful woman has to be with an unpleasant man. This builds on the idea of women as the fairer sex and the ones who must be won over and woo-ed for male companionship. This is also a highlight on women as the superficial gender, the ones who are so off-put by the vision of an ugly male that they must adapt to the male's personality and fall in love with that. On another note, the woman is also able to see past the ugly visage of the Beast in this story and loves his personality and perhaps even his mysterious nature. Everything Beauty does is a sacrifice for the love of her father. Beauty is the dutiful daughter who will give up the life she has known with her family to enter the unknown, a life with a beast and his old enchanted home.  The end moral is this: if you put your parents first, you will be married off higher than if you were not a good daughter.Education is important in this story: Beauty understands the value of a good conversation and talks about storybooks, music, and other well-cultured things. In this way and for her physical beauty, she is attractive to the beast. The beast has two curses: 1) he is ugly/looks bad and 2)he is not quick witted. Beauty has to love the Beast despite his ugliness and his stupidness. In contrast, Beauty is educated. Clever in this story is not as important as being cultured and refined. Beast, for all of his ugliness, lives in a palace and so this culture is refined and his stupidity is overlooked. Beauty likes his company. He shows kindness and purity of heart.Beauty's sisters are married off and her brother's are sent to the army. At the end, her sister's are turned into statues. The evil characters get what they deserve and will continue to get what they deserve.
