Chapter 4 Vocabulary

Define the following terms and expressions from your textbook.

Boolean expression- An Expression that evaluates to true or false

Compound Boolean expression- An expression that includes more than one boolean expression

Conditional control structure-- A statement that branches program flow depending on a condition also called a decision structure

Decision structure-- See conditional control structure

Linear Congruential Method-- A method that uses a formula to generate a sequence of pseudorandom numbers

Logical And-- The && operator used to form a compound boolean expression

Logical Not- The ! operator use to reverse the value of a boolean expression

Logical Or-- The :: operator used to form a compound boolean expression

Nested-- A statement placed within the same type of statement

Pseudorandom-- Not truly placed within the same type of statement

Relational operator-- Operators that can be used to form a boolean expression

Short circuit evaluation-

Truth table-- A table that shows the possible outcomes of two expressions joined by a logical operator
