RATES OF REACTION

Temperature -> Increases rate of reaction                   => Frequent collisions                    => Particles move faster- Gain                             more energy from heat                   => More successful collisions

Concentration and pressure:  Also increases reaction rate More particles present in solution- concentration Particles are more likely to collide  Smaller space for particles- pressure Particles are more likely to hit each other in a smaller space 

Surface area:- Increases reaction rate- More of the solid particles exposed if surface area increases- The larger the surface area, the greater the frequency of collisions

Catalysts-* Speeds up a chemical reaction* Lowers the activation energy * Are not used up
