In a factual account of the war, only the events would be retold, and the feelings held by the actual soldiers would not be included. How can fictional literature give us valued knowledge? Even though the setting might be fictional, you might learn valuable social skills from the characters in the literature. Why do people watch films that scare them or make them cry? To experience feelings which you might not be able to otherwise. Do you think violent films have an effect on people? Yes. Is there ever a case for censorship? Censorship may be applied to protect the public, but ethically no one should have the right to censor someone else's work.
