How do transformers work (4)

- Insulated wires are used to prevent electricity/current flowing through the iron core-alternating current in the primary coil-which produces a CHANGING magnetic field in the iron core- so the secondary coil also has a magnetic field.- An alternating potential difference is induced in the secondary coil by the magnetic field therefore creating an alternating current in the secondary coil

Use your knowledge of physics and explain why using a hydraulic jack makes it easier to lift the car to change the wheel (4)

- Effort applied increases the pressure in hydraulic fluid of the piston- Pressure in liquid acts equally in all directions- the surface area the the slave piston is large- therefore increasing the force exerted.
