Giant

Giant structure of ions arranged in a lattice. This is because the oppositley charged ions act in all directions they are also very strong which is why they arrangment in a lattice is very tight.

Th

They require a lot of energy  because of the attractive force therefore, ionic compounds have a high melting and boiling points.

Once ions have been separated  they should become a liquid as the ions are free to move around and carry an electrical charge through the molten liquid.

a solid ionic compound cant conduct electricity because each ion is fixed in the lattice and cannot move around. They only vibrate in fixed positions.

Many

Many ionic compounds will dissolve in water because when we dissolve an ionic compound in water, the lattice splits up by the water molecules, and the ions move around.

Ionic compounds have high melting and boiling points because of the strong electrostatic forces of attraction between oppositely charged ions in the giant latices  Ionic compounds will conduct electricity when molten or in solution because the ions are able to move freely

When the atoms of non metals react to make a compound, they share electrons in their outer shell so that each atom has a full outer shell of electrons. This is COVALENT BOND.
