Binary

• each binary number is a called a bit
• 8 bits = 1 byte 10101100
• American Standard Code for Information Inter change (ASCII) - sends a bytes worth of data to the computer to represent a letter/number/symbol
• 128 64 32 16 8 4 2 1
• 128 = most significant bit (MSB)
• after a decimal it becomes fractions
• 2 1 . 1/2 1/4 1/8 1/16
