- 1RAM Random access memoryRAM is a fast temporary type of memory in which programs, applications and data are stored. what's stored in RAM:
the operating system, applications
the graphical user interface (GUI)
If a computer loses power, all data stored in its RAM is lost. - 2ROM Read only memoryROM is memory that cannot be changed by a program or user. ROM retains its memory even after the computer is turned off. For example, ROM stores the instructions for the computer to start up when it is turned on again.
- 3VOLATILE / NON VOLATILERAM is volatile storage that can be lost when the computer is turned off
ROM is non volatile it cannot lose memory even if the computer is turned off - 4FLASH MEMORYFlash Media is a term used to describe a solid-state removable storage. it has no moving parts
- 5VIRTUAL MEMORYmemory that appears to exist as main storage although most of it is supported by data held in secondary storage
- 6KEY WORDSas bellow
- 7firmwarefirmware: permanent software programmed into Rom
- 8Disk thrashingwhen a computer's virtual memory subsystem is in a permanent state of paging
- 9what is SRAM?static random access memory
its faster and requires less power than DRAM - 10what is DRAM ?Dynamic random access memory
ram that requires regular refreshing by external flash media to be set back to its original settings - 11—
