- 1What is the purpose of the CPU?It is responsible for executing a set of stored instructions which is called a program.
- 2What is clock speed?Clock speed is how many times the Fetch-decode-execute cycle is done by the CPU every second. This is measured in(Hertz, Kilohertz, Megahertz, Gigahertz)
- 3What is meant by a dual-core or a quad-core processor?The more cores the faster your processor can complete the fetch decode execute cycle.In theory, the load is getting shaded between the cores.All of the core are working simultaneosly.
- 4What a reason for higher clock speed?A reason for higher clock speed is that it can carry out commands quicker.
- 5Why would you pick magnetic storage over solid state?You would pick magnetic storage over solid state as it has a greater capacity.
- 6Why would you choose solid state over magnetic?You would pick solid state over magnetic because it is a lot faster than magnetic
- 7What is an advantage of optical storage?An advantage of optical storage is that it is portable and is very cost efficient.
- 8What is the purpose of a hard drive?The hard drive is a non-volatile storage.This is where the files programs and the operating system is stored.Without a hard drive, nothing would be able to be saved.
- 9What is a RAM in a computer?The RAM is a volatile storage space this means that when the computer is turned off all data on the RAM is erased.
- 10What are the 3 Sequences?The 3 sequences are input-output and variables.In python, output is print and variable is var
- 11What are the four data types?The data types are real(decimal numbers), integer(whole numbers,boolean(true/fulse)and string(any characters.
- 12What is the difference between logic and syntax errors?Syntax errors occur when a program does not conform to the grammar of a programming language, and the compiler cannot compile the source file. Logic errors occur when a program does not do what the programmer expects it to do.
