= 5/20 + 12/20
5's onto 20=4 - 4x3=12
4's into 20=5 - 5x1= 5
5+12 =17 17/20 - 2subtracting fractions3/4 - 1/2 = 1/4
= 3/4 - 2/4
4's into 4 =4 (stays the same)
2's into 4 =2 1x2 =2 - 3multiplying fractions2/5 + 5/7 = 10/20
times the denominator and numerator - 4equivalent fractions5 x 5/7 = 25/35
5x5=25

(you do the same to the bottom as you do to the top) - 5dividing fractionsKEEP CHANGE FLIP
3/5~2/7
=3/5 x 7/2 = 21/10
(7/2 is the fraction of 2/7 flipped over)
