purposes:
managing hardware
managing installed and running programs
managing security of the system
providing am interface for the user - 3Rapid application development method (RAD)Involves the use of prototypes(versions of systems that lack full functionality).
If there's an aspect user doesn't like it can be amended.
It is based on the user evaluating the prototype and their feedback. This continues until the prototype is accepted by the user.
Only problem is that it focuses on usability rather than how it works so it's not useful for when efficiency of the code is important. - 4What is a MAC address?It is used as a 48 bit identifier that is given to connection devices by the manufacture. Its first 3 digits help to identify the manufacture.
Quoted in human readable groups but displayed in hex. - 5The TCP/IP StackIt's a set of protocols that dictates how data is formatted, addressed, routed and received. Has 4 layers:
Application = production, communication and reception of data , makes data acceptable format for apps.
Transport = provides reliable flow of data across networks for establishment and termination of connections.
Internet = Links to transmit diagrams through networks, uses IP to direct to IP address.
Link = makes network hardware independent so, can operate over any transmission medium. - 6The Domain Name System (DNS)It's used for naming resources on a network and allows users to find resources on a network using user friendly names rather than the IP address.
When user requests a resource through typing the URL this is sent to the DNS server which looks for the IP address of the URL. When found the connection is established when not, the information is passed to further DNS servers. - 7CSSHelps to determine the layout qualities of a web page.
- 8Java ScriptCommon way to control the behavior of the web page. Allows to alter the dynamics and interactivity of the web page.
