- 2What is the purpose of validation?Validation checks that the data is sensible
- 3Describe what a presence check is used for.Simple validation method, checks data has been entered into a specific area
- 4What is a range check?Checks whether a variable is in between a specific parameter
- 5Give an example of when a length check would be used.Length checks can be used wen creating a password to ensure it is long enough
- 6Why would a programmer use a modulus check?To ensure that the input is correct by adding a calculated digit to the end of the sequence. Commonly used for credit cards
- 7When creating an authentication routine into a program what are the five elements it would require?1. List of registered Usernames and Passwords
2. Data input for the username
3. Routine to check that the username is registered
4. Data input for the user's password
5. A routine to check the password is correct
