Questão Responda
Electron Transport chain found on the inner membrane of the mitochondria and consists of a series of carrier protiens
Step one NADH and FADH2 from glycolic and citric acid pathways release high energy electrons and pass them to the electron transport chain
Step 2 begin in a high energy state and as they flow along the chain of electron acceptors they release energy
What is this energy used for? The energy is used to pump hydrogen ions across the membrane from the matrix side to the intermediate space, where there is a higher concentration of hydrogen ions
Step 3 The return flow of hydrogen ions to the matrix makes ATP synthase to synthesize ATP
Step 4 At the end of the electron chain the electrons combine with oxygen and at the same time oxygen combines with a pair of hydrogen ions to form water
Final Electron Accepter Oxygen
