- 1Define a Computer SystemA Computer System Is a collection of hardware that works together
- 2Purpose of ROM (read only memory)Is non-volatile memory that keeps data even when the power is switched off.
ROM holds the BIOS which includes the bootstrap loader, this is the program which holds the instructions to start up the computer and load the operating system. - 3Purpose of RAM (random access memory)It is a volatile memory so if the computer is switched off all data is lost within it.
It is used to store program instructions and data that are currently being used by the processor. - 4What is the MotherBoardIs a circuit board that connects the CPU to the memory and all the other hardware.
