Flashcards
6.3 - artificial intelligence (AI)
Flashcards do conjunto (8)
- 1what is artificial intelligence (AI)a collection of rules and data with the ability to adapt to external stimuli
- 2categories of AInarrow AI - superior to humans when performing a specific task
general AI - similar but not superior than humans in a task
strong AI - superior than humans in many tasks - 3types of AI systemsexpert systems - mimics the decision-making of a human. has expert knowledge and experience from learning
machine learning - teaching AI with with sample data, so it can make informed decisions on unseen data. (deductive reasoning) - 4expert systems prosoffer high level of expertise
accurate
consistent
store vast amounts of information
multiple expertise
unbiased - 5expert systems consneeds considerable training to use correctly
costly - 6interface engineacts like a search engine for expert systems
it is responsible for gathering all the information and the decision making parts of this AI. It does this my making use of the rules base and the inference rules - 7knowledge baserepository of facts that holds different stores of information. e.g. dog: can be a pet, is a mammal, like on land, makes bark sound, furry etc. these categories will stay consistent in similar objects (like animals), so the AI can go through the list and ask questions.
- 8rules basea set of inference rules that allows the AI to draw conclusions. often in IF statements:
IF continent = "South America" AND language = "Portuguese" THEN country = "Brazil"
