1. What is technology?

   • What is technology?
   • Technology is the practical aplication of knowledge and skills to create a material solution that allows humans beings to satisfytheir needs or problems.
   • The sequence:
     • Need: Analysis of thir need or problem and study the previous casesand their solutions
     • Construct: Construction and testing
     • Idea: Propose one or various solutions and agree and choose the best solution
     • Development of the idea: Tools, materials nd labour needed and prepare a budget
     • Verification: Evaluate and write a final report

2. Factors in technnological process

     • 1. Knowledge of physical and scientific concepts

     • 3. Knowledge of materials and their properties

3. Classroom workshop

   • Planning
     • Coordinator: Agree and coordinate all the resources for every member of the group, achieve an efficient group effort and speak on behalf of he group in front of the class and the teacher.
     • Materials offer: Find and collect the material needed and recycle the material you don't use.
     • Tools officer: Look after the tools and make sure the tools are not lost or damaged
     • Secretary: Collect, check and organise all the documents
     • Health and Safety Officer: Make sure that all classroom workshop rules are followed and all machines are used safely
     • Cleaning: Make sure all the members leave their workspace in a clean and orderly manner

4. Hygiene in the workplace

   • ·Keep your hands clean and dry
   • ·Inform your tacher immediately
   • ·Clean and tidy up your workbench while you work
   • ·Every time you finish a task clean and tidy up your workspace and the workshop
   • ·Too much noise can cause aggressive behaviour it makes hard to concentrate and it's annoying

     • Mandatory sings: Show you that you must wear special protective gear to avoid accidents
     • Warning signs: Warn you about possible dangers of working with a certain tool or substance
     • Prohibition signs: Prohibit certain actions that might put you or youclassmates health in danger
     • Emergency signs: Provide information and help about emergency equipment and exits
