   • Illegally accessing or modifying computer files without permission.
   • White hat hackers
     • Help gain access of their system back.
     • Good
   • Black hat Hackers
     • Take away access of your own system.
     • bad
   • Grey hat hackers
     • Can do both
     • Good or Bad
   • Why do they do it?
     • Mischief
     • take info or documents
     • Test their skills.
   • How do they do it?
     • take advantage of the weakness on your computer.

2. Ransomware

   • Ransomware is software illegally installed on a computer that cannot be accessed until a ransom is paid.

3. Malware

   • Browser
     • Called a spyware
     • Diverts you to particular websites.
   • File infector
     • Infects particular file so if you open a corrupted file, it will download a virus

4. Logic Bomb

   • A logic bomb tells the computer to set a set of instructions at a certain time or date.

5. Computer Virus

   • It is a type of malware.
   • Replicates itself and installs itself without your consent
   • Can destroy or currupt you files.
   • Can crash your Computer
   • Keylogging
     • Records what keys you have pressed

6. Avoiding

   • Avoid clicking on links that are too good to be true
   • Don't download illegal sites, like ones that allow you to download copyright material
   • Make sure your browser is configured, like asking before opening a site
   • Keep your browser up-to-date
   • install up-to-date antivirus and anti-spyware software
