  1. if 2 things are directly proportionate, increasing one will increase the other proportionately
    1. if 2 things are inversely proportionate, increasing one quantity cause the other to decrease proportionately eg if c is doubled, then d is halved
      1. this is how you can show proportionality
        1. these are some other proportion expressions
          1. proportion equations can be easily graphed
            1. to do algebraic proportion
              1. write the proportion as an equation
                1. find a pair of values and substitute them to find k
                  1. put the value of k into the equation so it is ready to use
                    1. they will ask you to fin y if you have been given you a value of x or vice versa
