direct and inverse proportion

Map content
direct and inverse proportion
if 2 things are directly proportionate, increasing one will increase the other proportionately
if 2 things are inversely proportionate, increasing one quantity cause the other to decrease proportionately eg if c is doubled, then d is halved
this is how you can show proportionality
these are some other proportion expressions
proportion equations can be easily graphed
to do algebraic proportion
- write the proportion as an equation
- find a pair of values and substitute them to find k
- put the value of k into the equation so it is ready to use
- they will ask you to fin y if you have been given you a value of x or vice versa
