1. Input

   • An input device is a piece of computer hardware that is used to provide to a computer system by sending links to the hardware to show on the output device what ever you did on the input device

   • An output device is any piece of computer hardware used to communicate the results of data that has been processed

3. Storage

   • A storage device stores data in the computer

4. Magnetic

   • used for backup for important files and folders from a hard disc and for long term storage
   • advantages
     • not too expensive for each unit of storage
     • fast access and retrieval times
   • disadvantages
     • Can be easily damaged, will slow down and eventually break over time
     • Slower access than Solid State Drives

5. Optical

   • Optical devices use a laser to scan the surface of a spinning disc made from metal and plastic.
   • Disadvantages
     • Can be easily damaged, will slow down and eventually break over time
