1. Fundimental Particles

   • Nucleus and Orbitals are the parts of the atom
   • Electron Negative mass=1/1840 charge= -1
   • Proton Positive mass= 1 charge =1
   • Neutron neutral mass=1 no charge
   • periodic symbol
   • Mass number- The number of protons and neutrons in the nucleus of an atom
   • Atomic number- The number of protons in the nucleus of an atom
   • p=proton n=neutron e=electron p=8+7=15 n=8+8=16 A=15+16 answer = phosphorus with mass number of 31 and atomic number of 15

2. Isotopes

   • Isotopes-Atoms with the same number of protons but different number of electrons
   • Same chemical properties,because same arrangement of electrons
   • Different physical properties because of neutron balance

3. Ar=average atomic mass of an atom of an element______________________1/12th mass of an atomass of 12Carbon
