     • Allows Device Drivers to communicate with peripherals

     • Manages the available memory, by allocating a space in the RAM for applicaions or data. Can remove or split usage to allocate new programs
     • Multitasking - when 7 apps can be loaded and ran simultaneously. They're not really running at the same time, the RAM allocates time for each program to be run individually, to generate the appearance of multitasking
