Water Cycle

  1. Evaporation

    • The first stage of the water cycle is Evaporation. Evaporation is when liquid water turns in the water vapour due to the sun heating. But only the top layer of water gets evaporated, minerals besides salt gets evaporated, which is to heavy to get evaporated that is why the oceans are salty. During Evaporation the atmosphere cools down.
  2. Condensation

    • When the water vapour is at a high altitude it turns back in to a liquid which slowly and eventually forms a cloud. This process is called Condensation. During Condensation the heat gets released back into the atmosphere. Clouds also shield the earth from the sun rays by reflecting it.
  3. Precipitation

    • Precipitation occurs in four different forms water, snow, hail and sleet. Precipitation occurs when a cloud is full so they release these forms mainly over oceans but it gets evaporated mostly before impact. Water which lands on land gets in soil which mostly goes up roots. If the air wasn't polluted we could've drank rain water, so it would've been potabale
  4. Infiltration

    • Infiltration is when water sinks into the soil and goes up the roots and into the leafs. But if it does not go in the roots, it goes underground into and aquifer which is an underground reservoi which stores water.
  5. Evapo-Transpiration

    • Evapo-Transpiration is when plants, animals and humans sweat. With plants they take in the water and when the water reaches the leaf it sweats so it gets evaporated. The reason we get dehydrated is mostly when the sun evaporates our sweat that's why we need to drink a lot of water.
  6. Surface Run-Off

    • Surface Run-Off is when precipitation happens when it goes on land and can create a little stream but eventually it turns into a massive river which carry sediment to oceans that give life sustained minerals to make animals and plants live underwater. When aquifers flow down to oceans humans use that water for a lot of purposes that's why a droplet can maybe even not complete the water cycle. The water underneath the first layer moves by a thermohaline circulation
