Differentiated Instruction: Build a Native American Village

1. Visual/Spatial

   • Student will review text/pictures
     • Student will design 3D model of village

2. Bodily/Kinesthetic

   • Student will use real objects to recreate village.

3. Musical

   • Student will research Native American music to play for background.
     • Student was able to use music to concentrate better and displayed musical talent. Drumming on desk was frequent.

4. Interpersonal

   • Student will collaborate with group through activity work and dialogue.
     • Student will write essay to explain village and research.
       • Student demonstrated keen writing skills and leadership abilities. Written work was well organized and thoroughly proofread.

5. Intrapersonal/Linguistic

   • Student will research using books, computer, and pictures
     • Student will help to build village using various creative materials.
       • Student was observed throughout unit for abilities to focus, stay on task, and specific interests.

6. Logical

   • Student will investigate environment, resources, and tools used by Natives to accent village and recreate realistic look.
