1. Types of Control Systems

   • Security Systems: PIR sensors detect movement, Heat sensors can be used to detect body heat.
   • Automatic Doors: PIR sensors detect movement and open does when someone comes near.
   • Traffic Control: Traffic detection loops can detect when a car goes over a part of the road and change the lights accordingly.
   • Car parking: Some cars use light sensors to detect when the vehicle is too close to the wall.
   • Greenhouses: Heat sensors tell actuators to open a window if it becomes too hot.
   • Robotics: PIR Sensors in robots can detect movements to avoid human injury.
   • Simulation: Flight/car simulators use actuators to move the simulated cockpit when a steering wheel is moved.

2. Control Systems

   • Robots can be put in dangerous situations and do not need to take breaks,
   • Assembly line jobs can be lost and robots are expensive to repair.

3. Data Logging

   • Equipment can be expensive and could go wrong
   • Data logging is more accurate and no one will forget to take a reading.
