1. Formulas

   • There are 4 main types of formula used in spreadsheets
     • A2+A3
       • This formula will add cells A2 and A3 together
       • A2-A3
         • This formula will take the data in A3 away from A2
         • A2*A3
           • This formula will multiply the data in A2 by the data in A3
           • A2/A3
             • This formula will divide the data in A2 by the data in A3

2. Formatting

   • Borders/lines can be added to the edge of each cell
   • Cells can be formatted according to their data type
     • Currency (£)
     • Cells can be merged together
     • The font can be made bold, italic, a different font completely or a different colour
     • Background fill tool changes the colour of the cell

3. Benefits

   • Graphs and Charts
     • Graphs can be drawn from selected cells to show trends and visualise data
   • Automatic Recalculation
     • When data is altered the calculation alters aswell to keep the information up to data
   • Replication
     • When you replicate a formula down a spreadsheet the cells in the formula will change depending on what row the formula is in
