Kelley's Covariation Model
  1. - Kelley's theory of causal attribution in which people assign the cause of behaviour to the factor that covaries most closely with the behaviour
    1. People assess three classes of information
      1. 1. Consistency information - information about the extent to which a behaviour 'Y' always co-occurs with a stimulus 'X'.
        1. Someone always does something in response to another
        2. 2. Distinctiveness information - information about whether a persons reaction occurs only with one stimulus, or is a common reaction to many stimuli.
          1. Someone always does something in response to everything
          2. 3. Consensus information - information about the extent to which other people react in the same way to a stimulus 'X'.
            1. Someone always does something, and no one else does
