Decomposition
- Advantages of using decomposition
- decomposition is a good tool to use in computing as it allows to break down complex ideas into smaller and more manageable parts. Another advantage of this is that there is more chance of success in a program as there is more efficiency so people can work in small groups .
- Disadvantages of using decomposition
- there isn't really and disadvantages of using decomposition however a disadvantage could be there could be a group that couldn't program their section so they aren't as efficient
- Advantages of using decomposition

Pattern Generalisation and abstraction
- Abstraction
- Abstractions is a concept whereby systems are split into different layers with each layer hiding the complexity of the later existing beneath it
- Abstraction
Pattern recognition
- is the ability to see recurring attributes within the same problems and different problems. For example, a new problem may have features that are similar to problems that have been previously encountered and solved
- The five steps of pattern recognition:
- Indentifying common elements or features in problems or systems.
- Identifying and interpreting common differences between processes or problems
- Identifying elements within problems
- Describing patterns that have been identified
- Making predictions based on identified patterns
