1. The Processor.

   • The Brain of the computer system
   • It Processess Data
   • Carries out instructions (Executes them)
   • Processors have a clock speed measured in Hertz

2. Cores and multi-core processors

   • Each Core executes instructions independently
   • Dual Core may execute up to twice as many instructions per second
   • A quad-core processor may excecute up to four times as many instructions.
   • A multi-core processor is a single computing component with two or more independent processing units called cores, which read and execute program instructions.
