1. Environment

   • set of complex system that works together and form integrated units

2. Biome

   • A community of animal and plants that live in a similar ecosystem and characteristics

3. System

   • Is an abstract and tangible way you look the world

4. Environmental value system

   • The oppinion and evaluation of the environment in the community

5. Biosphere

   • Includes the Atmosphere (air), Lithosphere (rocks) and Hydrosphere (water)

6. Types of systems

   • open
     • Exchange matter and energy with it surroundings
   • Closed
     • Exchange Energy but not matter with its surroundings
   • Isolated
     • Exchange neither matter or energy with its surroundings

7. Transfers and Transformation

   • Matter and energy flows trhough ecosystem as:
     • Transfer: Energy or matter change location but does not change its state
       • ocean currents transferring heat (movement of energy)
     • Transformation: Energy and matter flows and changes its state (Change in chemical nature)
       • Insoluble glucose converted into insoluble starch in plants (matter to matter)
