1. Normal distribution

   • Z-scores
     • z=(x-m)/sd
     • Percentile rank
       • % of scores that fall below the score

2. Assume certain values (such as mean)

   • Conduct experiment
     • Do assumptions hold?
       • Either way - Inference can be made.

3. Correlations

   • For group/not individuals
   • Accuracy of predictions
     • Magnitude of Correlations
       • Depends on reliability of x, y and sampling
     • Valid x,y and valid assumptions
